I am LTC. (Ret.) Kenyon J. Kofoed. I am a Viet Nam Era vet. I recently retired from the Army Reserves after nearly 40 years. I served one tour in Iraq as RRAV Team Chief-North and one tour in Kuwait as the Sr. LNO (Liaison Officer).
I watched first tour soldiers, second tour experienced soldiers, and even some third and fourth tour experts as they moved through their final training before heading north into combat.
I was in charge of setting up the training for one third of the units in “country.” Some of the training included:
The MRAP rollover training
The weapons range
The advanced Medic/Combat Lifesaver training AND
The live fire convoy operations training
